Dear Addie,
This week we celebrated yet another milestone birthday, big brother Gabe became a teenager (gulp)! With it being his special 13th birthday, a pandemic still looming, and you now feeling a little more comfortable with balloons these days, he received an extravagant balloon bouquet from Grandma and Papa Menzo delivered right to our front porch!
Pretty cool right?!
Addie when I say it was extravagant, I mean it was a sight to be seen and barely made its way through the front door!
Now you may be wondering what this balloon arrangement has to do with you?
Well, I’ve always known that you see things differently than most, but this balloon arrangement reminded me just how different that all was.
As I brought it in and set it in front of me, I stepped back to really take it all in. I saw it in all its glory and thought it was pretty cool noticing the giant, shiny "1" and "3" straight away.
For you, it was wildly different and a distinct reminder of the level of detail and inspection most everything you see, do, or hear has in your life.
Everything is more.
I saw a large 13, but for you, it was not the same.
You immediately saw every color and had to touch and repeat each out loud 3 times. Blue, blue, blue! Purple, purple, purple! And so on.
Then like something straight out of a Highlight magazine puzzle, you know the ones from a dentist or pediatrician's office waiting room, you started finding objects among the balloon creation.
A purple scissors!
W!
Octopus...jellyfish!
Wait what?!
You didn't just see a cool balloon arrangement, but a life-sized balloon puzzle.
Now while we thought the sea creature you identified looked a bit more like Gonzo The Great from The Muppets - one thing was for sure, we didn’t see any of these things until you mentioned it. Oddly enough for as much as you like numbers you never said anything about the 1 or 3. Proving once again your view of the world is wildly different from ours. This week some birthday balloons left us a reminder of the detailed inspection you bring to all aspects Addie, and these were just balloons. I know that your view on life isn’t always easy, but thank you for always blessing us with seeing things from a different perspective. Love you!
