Dear Addie,
It has been six long years, but we finally hit the lottery! Crazy right?! Now while I wish I could say that we will be the next family featured on Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous (after buying our private jet and island with all our winnings), it's actually not that kind of lottery, but a far better one in my opinion.
Allow me to explain...
You see, Addie, this week is Surfing for Autism in the Outer Banks of NC! And while they try to accommodate as many surfers as possible, there is, unfortunately, a limit to how many people can participate. Entry to this event is based on a lottery, and people from all over the country apply! Well, as luck would have it, not only did we get in, but your friend Dylan (from Dylan's Super Friends), who moved away six years ago, also got in! A reunion was officially in the works, and I may or may not have squealed a bit at this excitement. Surfing was already going to be exciting, but doing it with friends would be even more special!
This week you and Dylan picked up exactly where you left off, not with secret handshakes or anything, but in a way that is unique between the two of you. You crashed in the waves, had a hilariously memorable bumper boat experience, went out to eat, and even visited the local aquarium together; oh, and you are mighty determined to get him to tell who let the dogs out! Lol!
Addie, we can't wait to see y'all hang ten this Saturday; it's seriously been such a wealth of joy for us all so far!
