Dear Addie,
It’s that time of year again when I ditch my non-yogaing yoga pants for a fancy gown and head out to feel all the feels among a community of amazing people all coming together to raise funds to help the future of so many like you. It’s Bluebird Ball time, an event to support our beloved autism farm camp and their ever-so-important future endeavors of an agricultural community that will provide supported farm living & job opportunities for adults with autism.
Real talk Addie - there’s just never a moment where we’re not already thinking about what comes next for you. I feel like life is moving fast and while we’re picking up speed it's still very unclear where we are going.
There’s a phrase that we say to our children as they inch closer to adulthood, “The world is your oyster” kind of funny right referring to the world as some sort of sea species?! Well, it’s said as a metaphor that the world (the said oyster) is open to you and if you work hard enough (because oysters are hard to open) you might find something special…like a pearl! This farm is working hard, they are creating something special, and they are trying to lead us to the pearl.
Every year feels just more. More emotional, more crucial to succeed - just more, but seeing so many people come together to support the future of so many is truly a beautiful thing to be part of.
We love you, Addie and we will never stop supporting the work that gets us to your pearl.
